Our client, a large in house team of a leading financial group, have an opportunity for a Pensions Technical Specialist. You will be responsible for providing pensions technical expertise for the scheme, trustees and members, recommending and implementing changes as required for both defined benefit and defined contribution schemes across the UK and Ireland. Main responsibilities will include:
Researching, monitoring and analysing the impact of changes to legislation and industry best practice
The production and technical review of all pension scheme documentation including trust deeds, rules and member literature, taking into account legislative requirements and best practice
Implementation and maintaining robust governance processes across all of the group pension schemes
Running the Defined Contribution governance committee for the Group Defined Contribution pension schemes
Production and delivery of pension communications to employees across a range of channels
Handling complaints by being the initial point of contact for members
The maintenance and update of the risk registers for all the employee pension schemes, liaising with the key stakeholders to ensure a robust risk management process is implemented
Managing the pensions intranet and internet sites and online Trustee governance system
Successful candidates skills, qualifications and experience will include:
Part or fully qualified Associate of Pension Management Institute (APMI), or equivalent
5-10 years’ experience within the pensions industry, ideally within an occupational pension scheme environment
Experience of delivering pension communication material
A detailed and practical knowledge of statutory legislation pertinent to pensions
Excellent stakeholder management and customer service skills
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with people from different backgrounds and at all levels
Project management skills with the ability to diagnose issues and resolve them
Ability to work under pressure
Advanced PC skills, in particular Word and Excel
