Our client a respected and independent pensions consultancy have a superb opportunity for an experienced pension fund accountant in their Birmingham Office. This role will suit an established pension accountant who is looking to develop their career further. You may be at an advanced stage of studying for ACCA, or have equivalent experience. Key responsibilities will include:
Ensuring that pension fund Trustee reports and accounts are prepared and signed-off, complying with statutory deadlines and deadlines specified within client agreements
Maintaining nominal and investment ledgers for each client and prepares financial statements
Liaising with Global Custodians to ensure that investment portfolio accounting is delivered in line with SORP and scheme accounting policies
Drafting Trustee reports for consultants to review and attending Trustee meetings.
Completing Inland Revenue Self-Assessment Forms for Trustees to sign
Preparing quarterly financial statements
Assisting with cash flow forecasting and pension scheme budgeting
Assisting with new business fee quotes and tender responses for accounting services
Liaising with auditors to resolve queries and to ensure completion of reports and accounts.
Skills and Experience:
Studying for the ACCA qualification, or equivalent and / or equivalent experience
Working knowledge of pension scheme accounts
Working knowledge of pension scheme VAT accounting
Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office applications and an accounting system
