Our client a leading global consultancy practice have a superb opportunity to join their respected pensions operations team in Birmingham as a GMP Project coordinator. The role will provide support to the Pensions Operations Manger in the delivery of GMP projects. If you are an experienced Pensions Administrator interested in moving into a project based role, this opportunity could be ideal for you.

On a day to day basis your role with encompass the following:

• Tracking Plans to ensure that the project team are fully aware of every scheme’s current position

• Co-ordinate calls on progress and any issues

• Ensure that scheme plans are line with agreements

• Linking in with the project team Managers to understand progress and understand any issues

• Ensure outsourced partners have the accurate information needed to run the pensioner models

• Work with process improvement team on further improvements to the process

• Coordinate with the Client Service Managers so they are fully aware of progress and next steps

• Monthly communications with GMP specialists

• Link in with the GMP Equalization coordinator

• Agree Revenue for GMP projects at the start of each month

• Ensuring any tasks that are beyond the standard contracted service to clients are highlighted to the Client Manager.

• Being a role model for colleagues by giving constructive feedback and coaching to support the development of others.

• Keeping technical knowledge and expertise up to date, especially all regulatory and statutory requirements.

• You will interact with both internal and external Clients, building strong relationships to manage expectations regarding service delivery.

• Work with all colleagues in the team, sharing technical expertise and providing guidance to support the delivery to the client.

• Facilitate and be accountable for the agreement of deliverables necessary to complete a project together with estimates of work and expenditure necessary

• Ensure all GMP projects are fully defined during initiation to ensure a project management framework and methodology is applied, clearly defined, and agreed scope is in place and appropriate progress monitoring disciplines are in place and adhered to:

• Ensure GMP projects adhere to prescribed project, risk, and change frameworks

• Actively engage with project boards in the management of priorities and the resolution of project issues and with stakeholders (client or internal) for progress updates and escalations

• Support the production of management information reports and metrics

Candidates will ideally have the following skills and experience:

• A minimum of 3 years pensions administration experience from either a third party or in house operation with a thorough understand of the history and processes involved in pension scheme administration.

• Experience of project administration/management

• Effective problem solving and analytical skills to anticipate future needs/issues, including leading on identifying solutions and making recommendations.

• Excellent communication skills, able to express views confidently and influence others

• Excellent IT skills with intermediate + knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• High level of self- motivation and proactivity
